Does graphics card matter?

Ive recently purchased a laptop, it has an nvidia 8200 graphics chip set in.

Now ive heard that games can be picky about which graphics cards/chips run them, so some games wont run on certain graphics cards/chips.

My question is will battlefield 2 run on my 8200 at all, and if it does which video setting (e.g, low, medium, high)?

If it runs at all, it'll be all very low.

Laptops are no good for gaming unless they have a proper mobile GPU (even then they aren't great).

Well the 8200 is a pretty crappy graphics card but it will probably play the game fine on low, as long as you run a low resolution

But it depends a bit if you have a good CPU too or not

I ran BF2 on low on a Toshiba Satellite with an Nvidia 6000 series graphics card (dont remember which one exactly). I would assume a 8200 would play the game fine on medium to high settings.

My mate plays with a Sony Viao, 1.8G, Nvidia 8400, 2G ram, Vista - think he uses High setting & 2x AA. Shouldn't be too different with a 8200.
