re-installed backed up booster packs and still says you need to buy? solved!
just wanted to let everyone know about this. after a long time of not playing my booster packs because it kept saying that I needed to buy them when in fact I already had, I decided to research this a bit more.
I made copies of the booster packs using the evil EA downloader, i made copies so i dont have to install that crap to be able to play it. I then proceeded to re-install BF2 again (uninstalled cause i formatted my PC) and all the booster packs, it was all good until i tried to join a booster pack server, it told me to buy it...so i research a bit and found out that i needed to sinc my BF2 account name with the EAdownloader, basically i had to change my EA name to the BF2 name and thas it....now, NOWHERE, not even in this website says that you DONT NEED THE EADOWANLOADER to edit you name. even this faq http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/ma...ad.php?t=98535 says:

the good news is that you dont need the EA downloader to do this! if you go here: http://help.eastore.com
then on the left click on "my account", this will take you to a login screen, in here input your EA login stuff (you know the oe you rarely use...hope you remember this info, otherwise you will never play your booster packs again), after this it wil take you to the same page, click on "my account" again, and its gonna take you to ANOTHER login, just put the same info you used before, then finally is gonna ask you to re-confirm your password. now click on on "downloads info" anc change your EA name to the name on your BF2 name and now join any game on your booster packs!!!
if this was known before...its not really visible....if anyone can sticky this (with better writing..) it would do everyone a favor to play the booster packs. this problem is waaay too common for those that have a backup of the packs and dont want to use the EA downloader.
