    can widescreen affect your aim?

I recently went from a 19"LCD to a new 22" widescreen LCD. I use WideScreenFixer to adjust my monitor for BF2 in widescreen but it seems to have affected my aim. I have never been a 100% accuracy kinda guy but I can hit the broadside of a barn. I have unloaded my M249 in the direction of any enemy sniper's face and watched while he strolled up and knifed me.
Will this game ever support widescreen format?!?!?!

They will probably implement the shortcut tweak like they did in the Battlefield 2142 1.5 patch, but I doubt that BF2 will ever receive true native widescreen support.

For your aim have you checked to make sure your frames aren't lower with the higher resolution? That is more likely to affect your aim than the slight FOV difference between the resolutions.

About three years ago i went from a 15'' to a 22'' widescreen, and i went on '' killing rampages '', i found i could kill more people than i ever could before, but i did not use WideScreenFixer, so maybe that's where your problem is.

It already does support wide screen. What you described is called getting your a$$ kicked.

But just for kicks try this.

Right click your BF2 shortcut you should see something similar to below:

        "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Change that to read "widescreen 1" and add "+szx 1680 +szy 1050" to the end...

Should look similar to this now:
        "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

Click apply and then load up BF2. It will force BF2 to run at 1680x1050 and in wide screen.

Yes, better use shortcut as described. I use widescreenfixer only rarely when in jet to increase FOV.

That's not true widescreen, it's merely stretched to fit.

Well, the field of vision sure don't change.

No it aint. How do you explain the oval reticule when looking through a sniper scope? And the oval minimap?:shakehead:

It is infact true widescreen - the minimap is a bit stretched but the rest works great

Yes this is SP but it looks exactly the same online

But the field of vision doesn't change. It just makes everything bigger...

There was a FOV hack, but obviously it's banned.

You mean they cut off the top and bottom to make it look widescreen or...?

It doesn't look stretched at all anyway

It won't be stretched because it's in a correct ratio. I mean, using widescreen doesn't mean you have a greater peripheral vision.

Here is a comparison widescreen 1920x1200 vs 1600x1200

                              1600x1200

                              1920x1200

Everything is just stretched out, however this does fix some the HUD and main manu of the game a little bit.

If someone wants to take the same screenshots stand in the left corner of the doorway nearest to the tank while pointing at the top of the Z-10's rotters.
