I wonder why people keep crying for a silenced sniper rifle. Its simply not going to happen. Its called balancing, and if you could snipe with no chance of being seen, everyone would do it.

Snipers on the other team create balance.. It's not as if a silenced sniper rifle is some colossal weapon that no one can beat, anyone with an assault or smg weapon will still out shoot you if they're in your vicinity and see you.

If silenced assault rifles that can shoot the length of a map (M4, G3, M16, G36C and M14) work then I can't see why a silenced sniper rifle can't.

Silencers decrease the range (and it seems like damage as well) of assault rifles and smg's in COD4. They can't shoot across the map. Plus there is no scope on them with a silencer, only iron sights, and no ghillie suit to make you visually invisible. And snipers on the other team only create balance between the snipers themselves...not between snipers vs other classes, which is what people mean by "balance".

Again Cat, you're a sniper. I know you want this. But you're only seeing it from your point of view. Snipers are deadly enough as-is. Give them any more advantages and the rape would be even worse (esp if the killstreak bonuses (airstrike, chopper, etc) stay in the game).

Killcam is an anti-camping method. Like Cat said, a silenced sniper rifle would not destroy the game balance at all, as long as the damage to range ratio is adjusted to give it fairness.
