Do you still play SP games?

I have to say multiplayer has completely spoiled me, I see absolutely no point in playing single player games anymore, I just don't give a crap, I prefer sandbox type of games or quick games with no ending like Tekken.

I used to play a LOT of singleplayer games till I discovered the MP! now I just watch walkthroughs of singleplayers on youtube, watched bioshock, watched, resident evil 5.

The only singleplayer I finished was HL2 and that's cause I really liked the scenery and it sounded very familiar(turns out they based their city17 after former soviet block). And the story of course was very interesting.

Other than that, I just can't stop feeling like I'm wasting time everytime I play an SP game, I mean why bother? and RTS games.. I can't be arsed to even launch them.

But MP, I can play for hours, I don't know, playing against people and knowing that when I kill someone, it makes a difference and someone on the other end is pissed or awed and whatever, makes it fun for me.

I love a good SP game. Something with a great or interesting story line is pretty good. Here are some games that Ive played for the story:

Thief
Total War series
Half life
Portal
Left 4 Dead (its fun in single player too!)
Assassins Creed
CoD
Medal Of Honor
RTCW
Doom3
Soldier of Fortune
Bioshock
SW:KOTOR
Command & Conquer/Red Alert
Warcraft
StarCraft
Diablo

I could go on, but you can see its a good mix of games with a multiplayer and some that were single player only. Then when you are done with the single, you can go online! Or if you get bored with online, you can replay the story!

Thats one thing I always wished Battlefield had, was some type of SP story explaining why there is a war and whats going on. The little blurbs in the load screen is really interesting on the battles.

Anyway, I like SP games too.

Usually, I play them through once, and then put it away for half a year, then maybe play it again

So I don't buy many SP games, unless I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with it, or it has some sort of MP I will enjoy. The Crysis series is my favourite SP games, but usually I'll just stick to MP.

I play the TW games single player. But most of the time I buy a game for the multiplayer, single player gets a bit dull in a lot of the games that I play. I love Total War though :p

Would probably play through a game once and then just play MP.

i tend to play lots of sp games due to the fact my parents like to use up bandwidth, and its unplayable on the net. some of the best games are mainly single player, Such as the Total War series, and the gta series.

i have to agree with iQue, Crysis is an epic single player game

I do tend to play a lot of SP games, well not a lot, just 2 of them majorly right now (both of the stalker games) If a game has a singleplayer worth playing but a multiplayer worth more i will play through singleplayer a few times then go on to multiplayer, occasionally going back, but in stalkers case, most of the multiplayer is based in the ukraine/russian federation & its not that great of a multiplayer

Simulator games is a exception for me though... I've played a few thousand hours or something in SimCity 4 back in the day :wee:

The vast majority of the games I buy are FPS with a MP component. When I get the game, I usually do spend a day or two playing through the SP campaign, to get a feel for the game, the graphics, the movement, etc, then move exclusively to MP. I'll often dig out the SP again a year or so down the road and play through it again (esp when a new game is announced, to get me excited about it), but that's about it.

I think STALKER:SoC was the only one that I've bought where the deep SP story was my main reason for purchase. Other than that though, if a game only has SP, I probably won't even consider buying it.

Stalker and Crysis for SP, the Crysis SP for me is just so enjoyable, really makes me laugh sometimes with some of the stuff I can mess around doing

and the Total War games, hours upon hours upon hours of greatness

SP games are still the best games out there. Online just gives you something to do later on. But games that are online only like Socom are just terrible.

I usually don't play SP and if a game doesn't have SP but a really good Mp (like TF2 and BF2) then it doesn't bother me at all.

once i've done it i will play multiplayer, but i will make the occassional trip back to singleplayer to complete the whole thing on "Veteran" (hardest setting) bit by bit.

SP games are the core still, multiplayer if possible though, some older games still rule

I still play SP games.
Altho not as much, sometimes i just enjoy them.

F.E.A.R. 2 is an awesome game, for SP that is. Really enjoy it, and when i finish i will most definitely play it again. Same with Bioshock.

You cant say that Assassins Creed, Max Payne and such games are not worth playing anymore, cause it just is not true.
