Absolutley Gutted !!!

Hi, I used to play this game with my clan day and night. I slowly lost all feeling for the game and drifted into COD etc. Anyway today I fancy a game after months out and every server I go on keeps kicking me so I try the old update punkbuster trick only to find out I have been banned!!. I look further into it and find out someone in the US (I'm in the UK) has got into my account and used a hack and got me banned. I have sent an appeal to PBB and hope they find on my side. Has anyone ever heard of this happening I really fancied a game online today and feel so pissed off with this what can I do?

I have just recieved a message from the admin at PBBans look at this

Your key was stolen, or generated by a ****** by a hacker in the US.

The ban will not be lifted and you will need to purchase a new copy of the game if you wish to play on PBBans streaming servers.

It does not matter to us who caused the ban or where they live - if a GUID is used to hack, it gets banned.

You know you can use tabs for different web pages you don't need to open Internet Explorer x8 times...

How is PBBans supposed to know you didn't use a proxy server to play on, I'm not saying you did, but it is a possibility for others.

How is PBBans supposed to know you didn't use a proxy server to play on, I'm not saying you did, but it is a possibility for others.

This is the first time I have used IE on this PC I only use firefox. I only used IE because I followed the link from a confirmation Email to the PBB site.

I can see how they may think that but why the hell would I use a proxy server in the US to play an online PC game, surely the lag would be unbearable?

i doubt EA will send a new key. i think most people that have been in this situation by being spoofed just went out and purchased a new copy of the game for $10.

Yeah, its a rough deal. My account was reset back to private because someone spoofed a bunch of people on TGN.

It makes me a little mad that they (as in any game developer) don't do things to protect a players credentials. I know it costs money to add things like encryption or some type of system of locking down GUIDs, so its probably not worth the hassle.

Hmm that does suck but as Power said, the game is only cheap now so might aswell save yourself some time and effort and pick up a new copy..

In fact this is outrageous! First they design a server structure where the customer isn't protected from things like this. Second they don't feel obliged to do something about it when it obviously goes wrong. And third they profit from their failure by forcing the customer to accept a sink or swim concept to buy a new copy or drop dead.

my friend lost his acount aswell. But the cd key was intacks though he still could play on it he jest had to made new profile
