i was playing CoD 4 earlier fine, my friends came over, then we went out for a few ours. now ive just got back and my CoD4 asks me to make a new profile. my old one isnt there. wtf!

Did you do a search for the file? Maybe it was somehow moved.

Ive never heard of the mpdata file just disapearing. Has your computer been running slow or strange lately? Heard any clicking noises?

If you think it was deleted, there are some free software recovery tools that might be able to search your hard drive and bring it back.

i was only level 7 when it was deleted, i had to start again cos i reformatted my pc. one downside is i keep getting kicked for coming top of the team against level 55's :P

There's so many ways to rank up:

lvl 55 mpdata file - gameburnworld
30+ Shipment server servers
Servers running SD with numlives 0
Running a LAN with another computer, set it to TDM with instant respawn and devmap on - then just keep killing them
Or just going on any crowded respawn gametype server
