help! can only play bf2 with no sound?

hello all,

i instaled bf2 on my new gateway p-7811fx had problems installing but finely got it working, now when i get to "Verifying Client Data" it freezes with music loop back,have to hit ctrl,alt,del to get back to desktop.i tryed disableing my sound and then the game works fine,but there must be something i can do to get my sound working,,no fun with no sound.....if anyone can help please...thankyou in advance for nay help.

Try deleting the Battlefield 2 folder from My Documents.

If that doesn't do the trick, go into your sound options in BF2 and try setting them to Medium.

And if that still does not do the trick. Try running the BF2 1.41 patch again.

i tryed what you said and still the same, maby its vista or the sound card?
have you heard of this problem before?

i tryed googleing and i cant come up with anything.

Newest Audio Drivers for your model.

Uninstall your Conexant audio driver. Reboot. Then install the new driver. Again Reboot.

Then try again.
