    DirectX 10.1

So I just got my fancy new Sapphire HD 4870 1GB GGDR5 video card and it says on the box how it is one the top cards for DirectX 10.1 games. Well what games run that and how do you get the game to run in DX 10 instead of 9?

Games like World in Conflict or Crysis immediately come up to mind. You shouldn't need to set it to run in DX10 per se. Just make sure you have the latest updates, and the game should configure it for you. Of course, you should be able to access the nitty gritty stuff under Options in whatever game you're playing or the Catalyst Control Center (the ATi control app).

Most games will not use DX10.1, the only one that i know does off the top of my head is HAWX. It basically makes running and implementing DirectX10 features more efficient and easier on the graphics card.

I don't think DX10.1 actually improves what you see much. AFAIK, it improves filtering, gives a slightly better shader model, and gives more support on rendering stuff.

Yes, it doesn't add nowt. It makes implementation and running the tech easier.

Yep sure does. Obviously still supports 9 as well

All games that support DX10 also support DX9.

DX10 looks better, DX10.1 will look the same but you should have better FPS.

Apparently it improves added effects such as AA etc, which I suppose generally falls under the term efficiency, which is what DX10 was geared towards imo, given that you can't entice people with task switching or virtualisation lol

                    DX11 is quite mouthwatering though

Yeah, but DX11 is harder to implement. Raytracing is a pain in the tush.

That was when it was first discussed. At this rate it will be Dirext X 15 and true 4D.
