PS3 Problems - Need Help

Hey,

I just got my Playstation 3 today and got it all out the box and what not.
BUT
when i connected it up to my TV using the Red, White, Yellow Scart cable thing (don't know what it's called :/) i found that i don't get any sound or a picture?

I don't have a HD tv so i'm not able to use the HDMI cable. However, i don't know if this makes any difference but yeah..

Basically i connected it up to my non-HD TV using the Scart Lead and have no picture or sound, can anyone help?

Well, it defaults to scart (non-HDMI).

Maybe your scart socket is knackered.

Or maybe the wires aren't secure. Maybe you have them plugged in wrong (it sounds stupid, but I've done it before, in some light white and yellow look the same).

Have you check'd all the cables that they are properly in place?

If they are, try to reset your video settings

- First turn the PS3 completly off(remember to flick the switch from the back).
- Turn PS3 back on, so that the power light is red
- Press and hold the power button until your PS3 beebs few times(it should take 5-10 seconds)

This should reset all the video setting for you. If you still don't get any audio or video, then im out of ideas...

nah they're all in right..

also, i bought it off a friend and he used it on a HD tv, and from doing a bit of googling i found that some people when they moved it from HD tv to non HD tv (and visa versa) they didn't get any picture and they had to change their settings.
BUT HOWEVER
i don't see how i'm supposed to changed my settings :/

yeah. If he used a HDTV, you'll need to reset your video/audio settings. They are trying to go down a cable that isn't there :p

it came with MGS:4, GT:5 Prologue & GTA:4
and i might return one or two of them to get Killzone 2

I got Killzone 2 by getting rid of a copy of Haze. I threatened to force the clerk to play it. HIY-O! But seriously folks, KZ2 is FTW.

^^ I would tell you to rent it just to experience it but I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone. Also, I certainly would not want you to waste your time and your money as you may find me liable for it in a court of law.

The only thing worse about it is that the whole time I got to listen to my wife tell me about how she told me that game was going to suck before I bought it... :s
