The solution is 64bit OS, 32 systems are stuck with approx 2.5 max for any program.

also true of 32bit XP is main memory is reserved to shadow gfx mem, so a 1g card could really hog your main memory if only 2g

Yeah, it appears in all copies of Windows, applications are set to use a maximum of 2GB of RAM each. Therefore, the hack I used told Windows to allow bf2.exe to access more than 2GB of RAM.

Since it didn't actually edit the application, it seems to work fine :)

Im guessing that It wont, but if you reached your max amount of ram with a task, would you just BSOD?

No, it would use the pagefile.

Normally what happens is the program becomes unstable and crashes you to your desktop.

All I can say is, with 4GB of ram and vista 64, I haven´t had one of those CTDs since I started using it, only CTDs I get are modding ones:p, so it doesn´t get too out of hand..

Normally what happens is the program becomes unstable and crashes you to your desktop.

It just rapes the pagefile and if that becomes full, the program hangs and displays a "virtual memory full" warning.
