    Will this hack get me banned?

    I'm going to apply a small hack to the BF2.exe in order to get around the PR 0.85 memory.dll errors. It is as follows:

    Will using the modified .exe result in me being banned from vanilla BF2 servers?

              Are PR servers PB protected, because i've just been playing that. I don't think it actually edits the .exe code anyway?

                      Adding the LargeAddressAware tag to your exe will not trigger a PB kick. I have a similar program a friend wrote up that I apply to all of my games. Never had an issue.

                      Windows by default only allows 2GB of memory addresses to a single program, adding the header allows it to use more (as much as it needs really). Only downside to it is that if you run out of available memory your PC will crash. Some games have memory leaks and you could be putting your PC through some hard crashes for nothing. Crashing to desktop is better than Crashing to a reboot.

                              Well, i want to be able to play PB BF servers, it is just a little hack because the new PR (which i'm trying to get into) doesn't run well without a ton of RAM.

                              I played on a PB PR server last night no probs, so i guess it's fine :)

                                  I wouldn´t like to call it a hack but meh.

                                  Been using it for a while, 0 kicks by PB and I haven´t CTDed for, well, since I used it as far as I remember (for memory that is). Vista 64.

                                  In fact, PB must like me because I haven´t updated it for months, haven´t been kicked by it or anything but "high ping" which is obviously another reason (family using internetz grrr).

                                      A hack isn't just a cheat. Plugins for Vbulletin are known as hacks.

                                                      Looks like you already tried it and it worked fine. As far as I know, if PB determines that your files are odd but doesn't detect any hacks, all it does is kick you from the game with a warning, so it should be fairly simple to test. Unless I'm wrong.
