first question:you just re-install NS, if you have the disk.
    second: theres no difference.

NS was downloadable content, not on disc (for most of the world).

You might find NS in your C:\ProgramDATA\Electronic Arts\EADM\cache or C:\ProgramDATA\Electronic Arts\EALink\cache folder unless you deleted it.

I think the play online now icon throws you on to a random sever and the 2142 icon just starts the game.

it was intended to do that, but it never worked and noone bothers. why would you join a random server if you can search a low ping much fun server?

if you bought it through ea downloader i think you can just login to your account in ea downloader and download it again, like steam. i'm not too sure though. after i bought it, i just burned the installer on a disc.

Is it worth it, at this point, to buy Northern Strike? Still people playing the maps? I'm thinking of buying it.

There is still a very active 64 man server running NS 24/7 (FCW Server) I would say it's still worth buying. Beats having to field upgrade all the time to get the extra PK rocket and IDS

yes it is still worth the mere $10. liberation of lipzeig alone is worth it. asides from that, NS brings (i think) 10 more unlocks. most NS unlock requirements are VERY easy to attain
