Battlefield online is only for south koreans(not north koreans), beta test starts at April, 2009.

BF:Online is basically USA vs Russia(NOT MEC...:dead:) conflicts. BF:Online is download 4 free, play 4 free like BF:Heroes
BF:Online have something like 'korean styles' like headshot effects, kill effects, real-cash weapons, clan match etc...

Vehicle & Kits information will be released at March 12, Maps information will be released March 19.

this is just a repackaged BF2, no?

weird, looks like you gotta pay to use certain things,

medic kit for 15 days ~ 6 bucks
gunship access for 30 days ~ 20 bucks

i don't get it, it's not like koreans can't play BF2, so why would they release practically the same thing just for korea? was BF2 never released in korea or something?

Am glad am not a korean right now , that game looks damn terrible for a brand new game, it looks the same as BF2 and that's outdated to hell now.

Whilst i won't pretend to be an expert on the Asian market, it operates very differently to that of the Western World. Many huge hits here such as Crysis or Call of Duty just aren't popular there, for numerous reasons.

In fact, i'll ask my mate who is from Hong Kong to give some insight here, he is better placed to provide an adequate retort.

The way I understand it, the Korean gaming market is unique... online gaming is pretty much a national pastime. The way they think about gaming is slightly different than how we approach it. I'd like to learn more about this.

IMO EA is being very smart by trying this out in the Korean market. The pundits say that the Korean market is "more advanced" than our market, so we might very well be going this direction...

I think something that others here may be forgetting is that this is to be a free to play online game. The "pay" part is for special items or roles which enhance the players experience but are not needed for play. I'm not sure how this works out, but I'm not the expert. I'd be willing to give it a try though!

it's very legit. in fact, the company has other online partnership games with EA like FIFA.
