It's better than "Summer 2008". Feb 09 and Heroes is still in beta 2.

Don't know much about Devry. But I do know that no amount of higher education makes anyone a good programmer. Only experience does. I go to SUNYIT and 90% of the kids who graduate with their BS can hardly remember how to write C code for "hellow World". I'm on of em but then again my major is networking so I don't give a $hit

It doesn't matter what degree you get, what college you go to, or even if you graduated from highschool. The best of programmers are all self taught, school can only go over so much, the rest is up to the individual doing the work.

If someone does not put the time in to learn what they do to the fullest then they will take longer to do what they want to do. As I am sure many of you know learning C, C++, python, etc. and programming language is no walk in the park for everyone. So give them time, they are probably fixing all the exploits in the current version of the game and adding a large amount of error checking and master server/server/client AI type processing to automate finding and kicking/banning those that exploit the game.

Never assume positive things with an EA sticker on the product.. They really prolly spilt the booze on the hard drive during the xmas party and are rushing to rebuild it.

maybe so, just as long as the patch comes out and stops the exploits and smooths a few other things out, I believe many will be happy. As the exploits and random server crashes are about the only problems I have had with the game, everything else just works with the occasional bug here and there but nothing major.

9 months...Well, I know they said they held out because of new exploits, but still, they could have done a 1.5 and then a 1.51

That's all fine and dandy, but without the piece of paper that backs up your supposed competence, it's all for naught.

Self-taught is just another way of saying "highly motivated individual with a particular interest and ability in subject X".

lol the quote is the other way around.

The patch will be comming. They have gone too far to drop it. However I sure do hope they fix the hitboxes. I bet they came on these forums, saw my post about fixing the hitboxes and this is the cause for the delayed patch.

If this is the case, sorry for the delay but you'll have me to thank afterwards

I just hope that they manage to unify the install. The current installation with all the required patching and repatching is ridiculous and takes hours to complete (BF2 Complete Collection).

                                Re: New bf2 1.5 news

if you think about the amount of time that they have spent on writing patches... *wait, seriously, follow me on this logic*....they might have been able to totally re-write the whole game code. How long did they spend before release writing BF2? If they spent 2 or 3 years, and the game has been out for 3 years, then the game was really started 6-7 years ago? By now, they could have completely rewrote the whole title or farmed it out to someone to re-write.

So...it has taken 6+ years to get the game right? I'm sure that DiCE wants to move on, with a 6+ year old piece of baggage on their back...but they should have gone full force into cleaning it up 2-3 years ago, instead of moving on to 2142. The 2142 engine should have been dropped into BF2.

All the while, the graphics team could have been making all the models, textures and maps for 2142. I don't think I am asking too much, because they had more then one office to work out of at the time.
