Another game?

I just got news that they're already making a new Call of Duty game?
Its just been out for like 5-6 months and their making Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2? Like, its cool to make another game but, shouldn't they atleast wait awhile so people to play more of COD5? Cause when they release this game, barly anyone will be playing CoD5.

You can expect virtually every one of those properties (its 10 multi-million unit-selling franchises) will be exploited on an annual or close to annual basis.

There's your answer. Expect to see a new Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, Marvel Tie-In/Cash-Out and Call of Duty game at least once a year until they're ground into the dirt.

COD:MW 2 is a sequel to COD4, not to CODWW (what you (incorrectly) call COD5). There's a lot of people who don't like WWII and who don't play CODWW. By the time COD:MW 2 comes out, it will be 2 yrs after COD4. That's plenty of time between games.

The COD games are now in separate time periods, and are separate genres. Something for everyone.

There's still tons of people playing COD4, even with CODWW out. Actually, there are way more people still playing COD4. So if CODWW dies when COD:MW 2 comes out, then it wasn't strong enough to stand on its own.

As long as each release is made by the separate developer, I'm fine with it. If it was one developer trying to pump out a CoD each year, we'd have a problem. Just look at the problems both CoD4 and CoD:WW have had when first released. Now imagine if they were both releasing a game every year instead of every two years. It would also be lacking content and innovation. It would pretty much just be an expansion pack.

Also, as Whiskey said, they're different time periods which = more happy fans overall. I'm not a fan of modern warfare and so I tolerated CoD4 (granted, I did have fun playing it also), but I was and am very happy playing CoD:WW, I have a blast. Since CoD has always been in the WWII genre, many players/fans of the CoD series were not happy about CoD4's modern setting or that there was no new good WWII game. Don't make me say the cheesy line that variety is the spice of life.

Ha ha, they're wanking cause they don't want to be dropped like the red headed step children that are CoD4MW fans after CoDWaW came out. Classic saying, "What goes around..." comes and bites you in the freaken...

Multiple developers, always been a strong point of this series...well not Treyarch:p

They sorta split the series now cause CoD was always know for WWII titles and MW was sorta a curve ball for most fans of the series and a welcome sigh of relieve for me.
