    For the last time...

This is not Battlefield 3. It's a side game like Heroes. Isn't it kinda obvious that this isn't meant to be in the 1942-Vietnam-2-2142 line of games from the multiplatform and download aspects?

Now quit complaining about unlimited ammo and 24 players.

K...and for all we know BF3 doesn't, and will never, exist. That is why everyone's up in arms about it. We wait for years on a BF3 announcement, get teased with talks of 'a big year for hardcore PC game fans', and then this crops up. With lack of other news, we go with what we have been given, and what we've been given isn't good. My rose-coloured glasses are an expired prescription, I'm afraid.

The fact that BF3 doesn't exist isn't the point. It's that 1943 was never meant to be like the other Battlefields.

I was always asking for a 1942 with 2142 graphics. But now it's here, i would rather want BF3 then this 1943...

Au contraire, it very much is the point. We await news of BF3, and this is the news we get instead. Not even a hint at a possible BF3. So are we to believe that this is the future of BF? Are all new BFs going this way? Is it the end of the franchise as it once was? Or is there more in the works? No information whatsoever on that front. Does DICE really believe that this is the news PC players were waiting to hear? Or that we would be enthralled at the prospect of taking the game to a new (sub-)level? If this is the new direction of BF, then it's fail redefined. If it's not and a true BF3 is at least planned, then why not throw the community a bone and say something about it? We await with baited breath the news that was supposed make 2009 the year to please the hardcore PC BF fan, and this and a port of BC2 is what comes out. So yeah, they're either purposely keeping information from us about a true BF title for PC players, or the whole nonsense about keeping PC gamers happy last year was just a giant cocktease.

Silence can be deafening as well.

Good point, if this is they way future BFs are going to be like, then this might as well be the end of the BF franchise as we know it.

But the original intent of my post was to stop people from whining about the "not-Battlefield" aspects of 1943, I am fine with side games like Heroes and 1943, but if they give up on the classic front... :|:

I understand your intent, Wizrdwarts, but the thing about BF1943 is that it takes up that last slot on the list of 5 Battlefield games DICE is working on. If it didn't take up that last slot, then I wouldn't care about it. Just like how I knew BF:Heroes was never a core BF game but it was ok because at the time there was still that one last slot on the list that could have been the "BF3".
