Connection problem

Hello,

2 years, I played Battlefield 2 without problems. Last time I have a connection problem. When I login into my account, BF2 gives me an error:

There was an error getting a socket's addres

I tried to delete Battlefield folder in My documents and re-install BF2 + patch again - it's does not help :cry: I have 2 computer connected to a router, the problem only on one PC. Play on second PC without any problems.

XP firewall is off
Avira firewall is off
Core 2 duo E8400
4Gb DDR3
GeForce 9600 GT 1024Mb
XP SP3

I patched the game and played for a good hour.

Now I try to log in to my account, it says

" There was an error listening on a socket..."

"since the patch modified bf2, some firewalls (should anywyaz..) block it untill allowed. set your firewall to re-allow bf2."

"just reallowed the bf2.exe in my firewall internet apps and it worked!, nothing to do with punkbuster at all, just try and update your pbsetup if you havnt already?"

Completely uninstalled Avira, but it is not solved the problem. I would look for alternative solutions. Format C:/ as I did last time (which helped) did not yield to me. I think if I tried to run Battlefield 2 without firewall. No where to re-allow bf2

Start > Control panel > Network Connections > Local Area Connection > Properties > Advanced tab > Settings > Advanced tab > Exceptions tab > Add Program > browse to the beefs :)

try new LAN socket or formatC:\OS\OSupdate\LatestDrivers\beef\PB will fix the problem *hopes*

I have never used the XP Firewall. But it tried turn it ON and add exceptions to BF2.exe did not help. What do you mean "new LAN socket"? At the expense of FORMAT, you mean reinstall Windows? :)
