Battlefield 2 "Error!"

Every time i try to play Battlefield 2, i run the game, the screen goes black, then when i do the Alt+Tab thing i see this "Error!" program, when i switch to it and click enter both the Error! and battlefield2 programs close. and when i change the battlefield 2 "+fullscreen 1" to " +fullscreen 0" i see that the error says:
"Error!
DirectX version 9.0c or higher is required to run BF2. Please install DX9c and try again."
But i have direct 9.0c.... and when i go to "EAsy info" it says "pass" for direct..
can somebody plz help me!? or know a link where to get the right direct?

My system setting are AMD athlon64 x2 duel core 4200+
ATI Radeon HD 4850 (4800series driver)
3gigs of ram
and windows professional 32bit

Have you tried the latest drivers for your card?
Maybe have a look through the Techy thread stickied at the beginning of this forum or here
You should have been given an option to install directx when you installed the game, so maybe uninstall the game, uninstall directx, install the game and it should install the directx version on the disc.

Did you skip the installation for DirectX 9.0c that was bundled with the Battlefield 2 installer? Cause I used to get this issue when I skipped that step and didn't install it; even though I already have DirectX 9.0c from other places.
