Stuck at SGT Major Rank - How do I move up?

I've been playing BF2 for years (and I play quite a bit) but for some reason have been unable to move up into the officer rank. Is there something simple / basic I need to do to make this happen?

yes theres something u need to do... get to 60,000 pts! lolol once u get there u will get ur next rank..
