i had this same problem and i tryed reinstalling PB but i dont know how to update it.

Couldn't quite read that error message, but make sure you download pbsetup.exe and use that to run manual updates of PB any time you have an issue. BF2 auto-updates don't always keep up with their definition releases.

Well I uninstalled the reinstalled punkbuster, then updated it. It seems to be working ok for now.
