I am forgetting BF2142 and sticking with BF2.

My experiences with BF2142 REALLY say it all.

Kicked for taking gun 3 because the admin wanted it.
Kicked for sitting in Gun 6 when gun 7 was spamming the enemy titan.
Kicked because .. I don't know off N@M server and not one admin answered why. In fact 11 people were kicked while i was asking so I guess they had a rogue hacker in there but N@M admin/players said nothing.

And so on.
On BF2 there are some gread servers I like the swedish uni ones BFG they take no crap and in general the admins are cool. And there are other servers out there that make you feel part of the game. BF2142 is all clique. Try the Timeless Suez server. How ironic it was one of my babies now its just a b2b clan server. Talk about nepotism etc kicked to make room for one of their clan, kicked because your whoring the hoff and beating their high score, kicked because you keep shooting them out the sky with the aa gun... whatever. Hardly proper admin stuff.

Soap box over. Keep BF2142 Off to play BF2 and enjoy it!

I read these and wonder what people are doing wrong. I don't visit the widest variety of servers, but I don't get kicked. Maybe a very very rare slot kick on a clan server. But this whole thing about hurting people's feelings by killing them and they kick you is overrated.

Jump in a FF=On server, squad up, and play hard.

Yeah, that sort of stuff never happens in BF2...

Don't get me wrong here, I love both 2142 and BF2 but there is just as many smacktard admins in either game. You just find a few good servers and stick with them.

the problem is not the game, but rather the servers on which you choose to play. plain & simple...find good servers, as there are PLENTY to be found. the same problems exists in bf2. you've probably just been playing long enough to know where to find a good online experience. good luck to you:thumbsup:

I kinda am older than you guys. reactions all shot, mostly drunk so i dont get to run about like spring chickens. playing titan games kinda suited me. whoring the hoff, shooting the titan guns then defending the corridors... was my gaming heaven. And I got my Lt Gen on EA official UK servers playing alongside admins with ff on and some horrible people on the other side lol. I guess the good old days are well and truly gone.

I have gone back to BF2 and found a load of people i know. But guess what. I hardly know anyone on the BF2142 servers now.

Sorry guys didn't mean to over rate the thread just wanted to say I came I saw I got fed up and left lol.

i'm 35 & most of my clan are my age...some older, drunker & better:thumbsup: sorry to hear you had a bad experience & never found a good set of servers. i've played both since the day the demos were released & from 5 years of experience, i've found 2142 to be better.

oh yeah BF2 is sooooo much better :laugh: Team killing for vehicles, nade spamming, medic whores, over powered jets, crap AA, and the list goes on :p

2142 is going down hill lately;

I haven't seen some of the constant 2142 players [Brig Gen] on for a long time. Guess they all went to Fall out 3? COD4? COD5?

However; there is a rise in sergents and captains lately...Guess someone got the game for Christmas?

i got perma banned from BF2 for no reason at all and it gave me a ton of techinical problems and it took me like two months to get it running after i bought it

i got 2142 and was playing it the next day with no issues

i find BF2 has more kick happy admins than 2142. in fact, there are what seems to be an automated kick system in some BF2 servers that kick you after warning you a few times like getting inside a vehicle if you're a commander, not in a squad, etc. i have only seen kicking for such things manually on 2142, but in BF2 it seems like the computer is doing it.

Well technically this is my third time round. I started the game the day it was released playing on the EU Official UK servers with some great players/team mates like admin andyadc1 (or whatever his name was lol). I was lucky enough to be amongst the first Lt gens and in the 90's but I went stir crazy after playing loads of hours a day and gave it up for about 8 months. I came back to 2142 to find all the official UK servers gone so i started to play a few different ones 50k Timeless etc. Eventually i got made an admin on Timeless and devoted dozens of hours a day to that but had to leave after personal incidents and stuff.
8 months later I am back with a new soldier but to be honest its all changed again. I hear what you say about there being some good servers out there but it would seem all those I get reasonable pings on are clan servers with strange rules and I have been kicked for no reasons as described before. I like squad work but it seems you cannot join a squad these days and get along unless your a clan member. I keep getting kicked out of squads that seem to be using teamwork either cause they don't speak english or to make room for a friend.
And I definitely don't do clans lol.

Anyway. Seems an interesting discussion.
