    How can I fix this?

    Hey.

I've always had this problem with BF2 Special Forces.

I get an error message when I start the game that says -

mods/bf2/shaders/lightning.fx not found!!! _DO_ check your working directory, _AND_ sync your shaders before calling upin your local rendering programmer/GP. (really!)

Can any one give me step by step instrutions on how to fix this?
Any help would be much appreciated as I have no idea what to do about it.

    Bauch.

Did you install the 1.41 patch after installing SF?

No. I've been playing BF2 for ages so I installed the BF2 1.41 patch a long time ago. I just haven't installed Spec ops on this new computer as I didn't think it would work. Turns out I was right and I get the same error message as before.
      Does spec ops get patched?

Spec ops comes with patch 1.21 or something, so you need to install 1.41 after.

So reinstalling 1.41 will fix it?

after installing SF, you need to re-patch BF2 using the 1.41 patch.

if you still get the error, go to this thread:
