    Stuttering / Lag - Network

The last week or so, I have been getting this stutter every 2-3 secs?

Like the gun is twitching, plus everything else is.

NO stutter in single player, so that must rule out there is no hardware problems - So it must be a network problem. This only happens on multiplayer (online).

I have a router and nothing has changed (keep in mind I have been playing bf2 for at least 4yrs and I know how to config everything, but its got me this time!)

What is the problem anyone? I am on Virgin Media btw, maybe they are the problem??

See the video of the stutter here:

Have tried updating router firmware/resetting cable modem.

Is there a new patch coming out mate? I have been using 1.41.

Did a fresh install of XP last night (As I was using a n-lited xp prior) and there is still this stutter... I even disconnected router and used straight connection.

It's like a frozen frame every 2-3 secs.

Just about to try a different Cable Modem later today, see if that is the problem.
      Will report back !

      Cheers

Have tried updating router firmware/resetting cable modem.

I have exactly the same thing, started about 2-3 months ago, more noticable on servers with a higher ping (over 100) but it is still there in low ping servers, just less noticable. If u spin the heli in the air on the spot u can really notice it and makes gunning impossible
I have noticed that it seems to miss your inputs as well, eg clicks when gunning and makes rolling and manouvering much slower as if data is being dropped?

I have tried exactly the same as you, plus new HD, new RAM, new ISP from Orange to BT (new router), had line checked, ports open, firewalls off, all non important services stopped, etc. Dropped all settings to low. Nothing makes a difference.....

I can't think of anything else it can be so if anyone knows a solution please let us know, as it is VERY annoying

Hi - My pc is fairly decent.

Anyways, I have fixed the problem!!!

Tested with and without this cpu driver 3-4 times (fresh xp install)

And everytime I did not install the driver, I still lagged.
So I installed the driver and the lag vanished.

I know this was my problem, because I tested it 3-4 times like I said above, just to rule out considence - And everytime it fixed the lag/gun stutter problem
