handguns should really be more potent

does anyone else think that the handguns should be a bit more formidable in this game? like they either

do more damage
have larger magazines or
be less glitchy so they can be fired a little bit faster?

Have you ever actually fired a pistol? I rather like the blend of arcade and realism that the pistols have in the BF series. Pistols in real life, aren't terribly accurate from my experience. Further, the faster you fire the less accurate they become. So no, i feel the hand guns are fine in this game.

i went on 1 pistol server yesterday and i got banned after the second round. i only used a pistol so im not sure what the deal was

I love the pistols, if i run out of ammo i always pull it out, an can usually surprise the enemy with a couple nice hits. I think its strong enough and i think they should keep it as is.

As for pistol serves, i got brig gen. and wanted a decay rank so i heard to play in pistol server but thats really lame, so i played one full round and got a score of over 500...my score was 100 points more then the next guy in the server and they were probably regulars there. Either way i got over 10,000 career points that week but didnt get a rank up...oh well

When I'm playing a good round on a conquest map I usually run out of ammo at least once and sometimes get stuck without any Support guys around. Then I switch over to the pistol.

well in real life i probably woudnt pull out a pistol i would probably bunnyhop around until i got a new mag in my voss LAR and then hip spray everything

The biggest problem I see with comparing games to realism is this: in real life you wouldn't randomly "spawn" in an active battlefield and start shooting whomever you see first. You would stick to a squad and start from a safe position and then push forward. You wouldn't fire indiscriminately as it would risk your allies lives, which aren't renewable like they are in BF2142.

I think the pistols are ok, you can still pretty much kill an enemy if your careful even if they have a voss. if you gave them more power it would take away from some of the assault rifles.

The EU pistol, however you spell the name, is pwn. Poof poof poof and he's down. I think they're fine. I really like how the takao has a little sight as well. I really like all those little details in the game when thinking about it.
