JD_2020 says "soon," threatens people who ask questions

Yep, he's back. And already deleting the posts of anyone who asks real questions.
I stated, "'In Patch 1.2' isn't a 'when,' it is ambiguous. He's deleted it and has threatened to ban me. This is after he refused to give us an ETA on any patch. And said PC gamers should expect inferior support by now.

Would anyone here see the content he quoted as flames leading to a ban?

Note: The part about reading comprehension, which I don't see as that bad, started with a guy flaming about using the in-game browser filters to avoid rank-up servers. Then JD came in acting like a smarty pants telling us "I already told you when, but you're stupid. Whenever 1.2 comes out it will be fixed. But I refuse to tell you when 1.2 is coming out." Seeing as that has no "when" in it, and is contradictory, I asked him about it. Then the threats began. I didn't save much before he started clearing things out.

[PSI]SnowWhite wrote:56 Days and counting without Http Redirect. Still no information from JD_2020 on when it will be fixed.

JD_2020 wrote: Huh? I said it will most likely be fixed in the next patch... Maybe I need to make a sticky specifically for this =P. We have it fixed and it's being tested - assuming nothing goes wrong, it will be in 1.2.

Please reference the Sticky posts. And giving an exact ETA on when that patch will be released is too difficult to do, as I also explained in other stickies.

    Regards,
    -JD

Unnamed Assailant wrote: Are you having reading comprehension problems now, too? He said you haven't told us when it will be fixed. That involves an ETA of some kind. Hence the "when." When the time frame given for the next patch is "next year some time," you can understand our frustration with something for which we have paid $50. That's almost 2 hours of work, dangit!

But yeah, you can't really get defensive about someone saying we don't know when we're getting a fix and then refrain from giving us a timeline on a fix. Seriously...

JD_2020 wrote: Not going to argue, so stop here - "when" is ambiguous - "In Patch 1.2" is a when, which I have given before. He never qualified he wanted to know what day.

    Don't flame moderators btw, it's a fast-track to a ban.

Edit: before you post what I know is coming next - don't flame ANY users for that matter ;-).
Now I go back, he has actually deleted parts of some posts, not just mine, that disagreed with him... Wow.

Its so blatantly obvious that this is a console game. If it wasnt for the co-op Zombies I would never play it. Can't wait for Modern Warfare 2

I'm not exactly sure who said what in your quote...might want to add who said what, I can kind of assume. But yeah, this is not the way to represent the company if you're the community manager. You are to be the communication connection between the company and community, not a defender for your company. I'm sure he gets sick of being asked the same question over and over again, but that was a little immature to attack people somewhat as he did.

And why...don't they just release a few patches along the way if they have something like http redirect fixed...? I know some people hate multiple patches, but if something is fixed, give us the fix. We don't need to have a massive patch to have it be 'worth downloading'. Either way, I just want this patch soon.

Never, ever buying another Treyarch game. I pretty much play games to compete, and this is NOT acceptable. IW would have made hotfixes right away for some of the more critical issues (which they did in COD4).

The reason why there is no ETA is because they have not even started with it. There all coming back from holiday vacations. That's my assumption.

Still does not excuse the fact that they could have did a hotfix for /record, and cheat protect some console commands (r_sizecull and power servers)

Treyarch are slowly slipping towards how KAOS studios ended up after FFoW. The game lacked a lot of features and any post that criticized the game on the official forums was deleted and you risked a ban. The game is a lot better after patch 1.3 but it's too late.

The situation is not the same for CoDWW but not far from it either. The game is living a lot on just being a CoD game and recieving a lot of hype from the start.

Pretty much 100% of what I was thinking, cut the ******** this could have been done and dusted well before Christmas. This company is just digging itself deeper and deeper.

This was my first Treyarch game, and will be my last.

JD can go suck a big nut, because he blows balls. What kinda community manager is that?! How did such an a$$hat like him get his job? ... Probably blowing all the right peeps.

WaW is a fail game, it was fun, but Treyarch clearly doesn't give a hoots arse to fix it so F- Them.

Treyarch must have invested much of it's operating capital with Bernie Made-off-with the money. No patch, no fix..........sad!

It's about Josh Olin, the community manager for COD:W@W and a Treyarch employee, threatening to ban people from the official W@W forums for pointing out that "whenever" doesn't answer the question, "When will this issue be fixed?"
He says, "I already said when. When patch 1.2 comes out. It's in the sticky, idiot." Paying customer asks, "but when is that going to happen, JD?"
JD replies with, "Whenever. I refuse to give you even a vague idea of when. If you ask again I will ban you."

If you were anything like that, alex, I would have left a long time ago. :p
When he shows up to the forums after a long absence and the first thing he does is mock customers who point out the lack of information given... He's a paid employee. I'm not sure why they're still paying him when all I've seen him do is pat himself on the back and belittle anyone who has asked questions.

That's what we signed up for. Zero information on a patch 2 months after release. "Soon" and "we might possibly fix some things" do not count as information. Yup, this is normal and is now acceptable. You should be used to it by now. :shakehead:

Yeah, i know what you mean. I've had a few closer run ins with a community manager around TGN. I'll mention no names, but let's just say they don't take criticism well.

I understand they get pissed off at people constantly complaining, but in a professional environment, they should rise above it and simply ignore them.
