**** it I play my way and if I get kicked I just play somewhere else. There are plenty of servers that are not stacked with whiny stats padder biatches.

If you see the rules in the loading screen, do you quit and find another server then or disregard them and play until you get kicked? Just wondering.

Most of the time my thang doesn't include stuff that the whiners latch on to. However from time to time I will be kicked for dumb *** reasons. I'm not talking about when it's blatantly because I killed one of the admins or am in the lead spot.

Going into enemy bases to destroy assets. Get spotted and take down the enemy before he can kill me - kicked base rape. :evil:

Shoot someone who is 100 metres away from base flag. kicked base rape.

Camp G. Lay a motion mine trap at Harbour and nick the walker when the enemy pilot bails and then slaughter PAC with their own machine. Kicked no walkers

Lay a RDX trap at the PAC base on Shingle then blow an assault squad to kingdom come. Kicked - RDX abuse. :hmm:

Knife the enemy commander on the PAC tower at Shingle whilst my team mates are capping the flag. Kicked base rape. :shock:

Break through Camp G as PAC and capture EU base then hop in the walker and walk it back to the front line. Kicked - vehicle stealing.

I mean the amount of plainly idiotic rules people dream up just beggars belief.

The guy who suggested a 'report' button is a genius. Something should be done about the really bad ones.

As long as they include a way to rate a player as well. As in, a minus for a moron that only cares about himself and has complete disregard for the gaming experience of others on the server. And a plus for those that actively engage in squad and team play making it more fun for those involved.

since when has it been someone else's responibility that (I) or (You) or (That other guy) have a fun time playing on a server?

have you ever heard "you make your own luck?" which would also lead to "you make your own fun?" which you could conclude that it is not intelligent to punish ..someone else.. for doing what you beleive to be "ruining someone's gaming experience?"

am i the only person that feels it is the responisibility of one's own self to enjoy the game and not some other random person on the server? if you arent having fun.....its not HIS fault.

and really this is a very good mentality because it actually leads to greater critical thinking and an overall atmosphere of increased competition and developement. this is why it bugs me when people say "your ruining MY game"


im not saying this because im attacking you that is not the case at all. i really do feel this way. you really need to take charge of things yourself and not fixate on what other people are doing.

Admins already have the ability to stop that person playing on their server. A few mouseclicks and he's gone for good.

However Admins are free to ban and kick for meaningless reasons and even to just blatantly pad their clans stats on ranked servers.

People would spam it big time...

There is a danger for people to abuse it but if a server is continually getting reported by many users then someone who deals with the ranked server system could have a look at it to see if it's being operated fairly.

lol, I'm not even sure where to start. As if one person can't have an influence on another's experience. Again Field, with you it is all about me, me, me. And you wonder why it is the number of servers that you can play on is shrinking.

Oh wait, that's right, according to TrooperJac, it's because we are all stupid little admins on a power trip that can't handle the "leetness" that exudes from you.:laugh:

And Trooper, he wasn't talking about people abusing a reporting system of servers, he was talking about a system where people can report players. But then again, the more I think about it, selfish players have a way of letting everyone know about them through their posts in the forums.

trooperjac maybe you need to read the rules and obey them, if it says, no baserape, it means: no baserape. not: attack pac base please.

as far as i know on my server we barely ban people unless for a couple of reasons:
obvious hacking(eg spawn and get a kd of 30-0 in less than 30 secs, eeh no hacks?)
or breaking the rules blatany: after a couple of kicks stay baseraping, keep on bunnyhopping, emp striking or orbital striking as commander after a couple of kicks for that.

So walking into a base to take out assets is base rape is it. If I as recon enter a base, get spotted am I supposed to just hold my hands up and give them a free shot. These arbitrary rules are often just made up and applied on the fly.

**** da rulez - the rules are hard wired into the game engine. Like I said - I'm gonna do my thang and if I get banned well so what. I really don't play that much anymore and when I do there are lots and lots of servers but it's like sitting down to a game of chess and having your opponent state that when he plays - pawns can only move sideways because it ruins the game otherwise :laugh:

Some people seem to think that I run rampant through enemy bases -stealing walkers, murdering babies and putting RDX up the commander's ***. Not the case. However I strongly defend the right for people to do so if they wish. No cheating, no glitching is all you need.

Okay then. Let's play.

My definition of fun is to block the passage of my teammates using an APC, to park the air transport sideways in the Titan bay, teamkill entire squads on occasion by landing on them and doing little smiley faces :) whenever someone decides to flame me over in-game chat. I also enjoy making racist and sexist references to whoever killed me, hugging destructible objects on FF-on servers, and giving away my squad's position on purpose by EMP-spamming my cloaked squad leader or shooting wildly at passing enemy armor with my LMG until it overheats. I adore seeing my teammates get killed thanks to my actions and have a blast watching them spam me with irate messages after their crushing defeat, while I congratulate and pat myself on the back for helping the enemy win.

...Now, take a wild guess as to how many servers I'd be allowed in after a week of adopting the above playstyle.

Coming on a server with open intentions not to follow its rules? Bad idea. I might as well go to USA and tell the customs officer I'm on my way to blow up the Capitol building because I think it's ugly and those puny American laws have no right to infringe on my taste of aesthetics. Besides, explosions are awesome and anyone who doesn't like massive and beautiful explosions is obviously an idiot who doesn't deserve to live anyway.

If you want to play without rules, then seek a no-rules server or make one. Your personal beliefs don't grant you any privileges over the servers that don't see the game the same way you do.

yeah, but then there are servers that ban you for not breaking any rules(nhs spamming messages without written any message, and didnt spotted or rezzed anyone in nearly a minute as i had to run from eu base to harbor back). or ddso for banning me as someone said i hacked and had proof, so they banned me on my kd of 40-2.

but then you also have people blatany breaking rules(on ddso i was the round before the only one who wasnt on the sand) and who deserve to be banned.

See, even you have to admit that there's a line to be drawn at some point, where fun ceases to be fun and it starts stepping on everyone else's toes. So you can't come in and say that fun is entirely personal. We're playing a game with real people who live elsewhere on the planet and a compromise has to be made somewhere. If someone's being an ******* around me, I sure as hell will blame him on ruining my fun. There's a whole lot of teammates who help the enemy on a constant basis without even being aware of it. It's not like they mean what they do, but you know, they start shooting everywhere, attracting attention, blocking the way, rambo-ing alone against a squad you were preparing to ambush and take out with one well-placed grenade, and other things like that. It's almost sad that they don't even realize what they do, while they've got a squad looking at them with a o_O face and thinking "Dude, what the hell are you trying to do?" It's the sort of people that will lack enough situation awareness and jump right into the firing like of a teammate's sentry gun and then lay the blame of their death on him rather than on their failing to check whether they were stepping into a dangerous zone. You know football? It's like a blocker seizing the ball from his quarterback and then rushing head-on on the first opponent he sees. It just doesn't make any sense and shows a flagrant lack of consideration for the people around him.

I don't need to go into all the nooks and crannies and gray areas of the matter because I'm certain most of us here have a good intuitive sense on how to have fun while also making the game fun for the people around us. Do not claim otherwise - and if you do, refrain from playing until you do get that intuitive sense.

I don't give a damn about the enemy. The enemy can pressure me and play mind games with me for all I care. So long as the players remain sporty and polite, I've got nothing to say - 'cause I sure as hell won't welcome in my squad a last-round rival who did nothing but berate his enemy all along whenever he got a kill. I don't even want to know what he thinks of the soldiers he's shooting at. I want people who are willing to play and recognize that there are people aside from them on that server, and without going into the nigh-inevitable Hello Kitty Online argument, we've all got much better things to do in the average BF2142 match than spam "lolololololol u suk u suk u suk u suk u suk u suk" on game-chat. If kills are to happen, let them happen properly.

There have to be some rules, and if someone abuses the rules its understandable that the admins take action. Its just when the admins take things into their own hands because they have their own agenda. If I were to go into the uncap to blow assets and kill an admin in the process...80% of the time i would be kicked or banned no warning...
