What are your favorite mods, and what do you think of the DAMN mod?

Just wondering what everyone's opinion was on the mods that are available, as well as on the DAMN mod that is now being used in CEVO and CAL.

I personally like SMART's zombie madness, BTD zombie mod, Durka Durka, and Maniaxe.

In my opinion I like DAMN mod more than promod because of the fact that the weapons are separated by which team you choose, and are also balanced so it isn't just Ak47's and Ak74u's, plus the no sway is cool.

(I have never played in a competition nor plan to, but I played in some of the practice servers)

So just throw in your thought's please.

SMARTs zombie is OK. I liked the simpler Zombie mod myself. I cant remember what it was called.

The Paintball mod is a lot of fun and very different

eXtreme mod is fun, but it depends on how the server was setup. You can adjust anything on it, like forcing people to crouch or to walk only. It can get a litte too extreme.

I've adjusted to DAMN mod, but it changes way to much in the game in my opinion. I was actually talking to a member of H2K last night and he doesn't like DAMN mod compared to promod - promod's been the main mod for a while, so I don't see any reason to change that.

Other than that, zombie mod is fun, but I don't play it much.

I like the DAMN mod, adds more variety and skill levels to the game. Nades aren't as big a factor as they were in Promod (You can't nuke a spot on the map anymore), and adds more teamwork with the varying damage levels of the SMGs/assault rifles.

And I've also played the paintball mod, which was really fun. But they accused me hacking a bunch of times... One hit kill + automatic weapons = lots of death, or in this case "The Out Box."

Promod 4

DAMN nerfed the only skillful weapon in the game (m16) and made it only for one side. Unacceptable!

Haven't played many mods, but Paintball and GunGame where quite fun.

The people from Bash and Slash elected Frontlines as the best COD mod of 2008, so I'm inclined to agree with them... :laugh: :yay: :thumbsup: :nod:

about the DAWN mod, I don't like this type of gameplay into realistic war games like COD4... I mean, the need of a full clip to kill someone, like BF2... or the able to be above the car which explode and you still are alive??? If I want to play with these kind of gameplay, IMO I prefer to play Quake or UT... sorry... but the mod is very well done, just isn't for my taste... :salute:

You mean the DAMN mod? It takes usually less than 4 bullets to kill someone, and CoD4 isn't a realistic war game at all. It looks like it... but it isn't.

The DAMN MW mod was discussed on a recent BASH podcast:

On the cast is the creator of the mod, along with a prominent competitive player. Sounded pretty interesting with some cool features/tweaks. I'd guess that a lot of people will be resistant to change, however, since Promod came first. This might get a decent fan-base, though.

Promod live the new one is the best mode for leagues and teams for scrimming. But for fun i like mods like the modern paintball one. Very cool and fun.

I always liked PAM4 the best, too bad promod took over. But I can't complain much it's almost as good.

Promod3Final was win, then they tried to do too much to it.

ExE's Zombie Server is good, it runs NovemberDobby 1.51 Zombie Mod I think.
