1920x1080 doesn't work....PLEASE help..it should.

I am gaming with my 46" 1080p tv. with my gtx260 hdmi to my TV and optical digital to my reciever for sound. All works great! My resolution at desktop is set to 1080p HD and I can play games in 1080p...except...I edited the command line in bf2s shortcut like I always do and...for some reason it goes to a black screen, than crashes back to desktop when I try running it in 1920x1080.

I have run the 'widescreen fixer' program and still nothing. I noticed the exact same thing happens in Half life 2. Yet episode 1 and 2 and lost coast and synergy etc all work fine in 1080 and they support those resolutions. .....What could be causing this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I use the same video card (isn't it great). Check your shortcut (i.e. +szx 1920 +szy 1080). You can also check the Nvidia control panel, under Television and Video select 'Change the signal or HD format'. Ensure that HDMI is selected. Might also be worth looking at flat panel scaling and Resize options. Hope this helps!

I had same problem but playing on 16x10 wide resolution, then I start to search over internet for hep and find this thread:

My shortcut line looks like below and for me works combination of +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1


"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

What's the refresh rate in the display settings?
If it happens to be 50Hz BF2 won't work.
