Before you install DCONX v0.22b delete all dcon folders in you local BF2 Mods folder
How to make dconx desk top shortcut
for those that do not have DCONX at all you will have to copy your bf2 desktop shortcut
right click and put the following in the target line
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/dconx
Change the icon which will be in the dconx folder
rename to dconx
