Have been away for a while. Now when I come back, I have seen less and less people playing this game. Are they all up in hiding or they have gone off to another game like Quake War, Frontline Fuel of War or...?
Where have all the people gone?

Re: Where have all the people gone?
Well COD5 lets look at some facts shall we?
1. 2142 is a few years old
2. It's right after Christmas and people are playing around with new stuff.
3. Quake Wars fizzed out a bit months ago and FFOW was a horrific flop.
I think its a combination of everything above, people are just finding other stuff to do or play mostly.

Re: Where have all the people gone?
yea they might be playing other games, but QW:ET and FFOW are not one of them. nobody plays those games, in fact QW:ET is on sale at 4.99 at circuit city and i've seen FFOW for same price during black friday.
they're probably playing TF2, L4D, COD:WW but not those 2.

GTA4 for PC too, seen a ton of people playing that. I do admit it looks better on PC than Xbox.

How does that game run on your PC? It's playable, but stutters like crap on mine and everywhere I read there are tons of people with the same issue. Annoying when you are used to running Crysis smoothly with everything maxed out.Originally posted by ZinZ View PostGTA4 for PC too, seen a ton of people playing that. I think everyone is probably busy atm with the holidays. Give it a month and there will probably be more people. Plus, this is a game where a lot of people come back to play after a while, so there will probably still be more in a few months; especially if the rumors of a new patch are true.

Runs absolutely fine on my friends PC. No stuttering no problems. Never heard of that really, maybe you have it set too high or something dunno.

Re: Where have all the people gone?
Maybe my expectations are just too high. My bro-in-law played it on my PC and said he thought it was fine when I asked him how it ran. Anyway, 2142 is the game I play most still and that is locked in at 100 fps, so I guess I'm just used to that.
If you don't mind me asking, what are the specs for your friend's PC and what graphics options is he running it at?

There are studies that have shown the human eye can't detect or only just barely the quality change from 60-120-180 fps.Originally posted by messfeeder View PostMaybe my expectations are just too high. 60 FPS is as high as you'll ever need for the best possible gfx.

Re: Where have all the people gone?
A lot of console games run at ~30 fps. They make such a big deal when a game runs at 60 fps for console. Seeing as how GTA is a console port, that may explain why it runs the way it does. Idk, I think it was just a poorly coded port.
