COD5 Bug with Black Screen on XP fix?

Hi, I just got Call of Duty 5, so did my friend. This is about the 'black screen' bug that happened to my friend. Okay, I just talked to my friend about COD5 that it works on my PC, and he said "It won't work on my PC, it has a black screen glitch like what happened in the beta!"

He runs WinXP, and I have tried everything to help him, but it won't work, can anyone help him out?
I really like to play zombie with him.

His video card might not be supported. I would try patching to 1.1 as well.

Also, some that get this problem are able to resolve it with a DirectX 9c re-install.

is it a direct 2 drive downloaded copy of WaW? and when it black screens does the sound glitch playing last noise in rapid fire? cuase thats exactly what mine was doin..

His Graphic's card is: ATi Radeon 200XT
His PC is up to date, and he has Direct X 9.0c installed.

Yeah, mine was up to date as well, but I still had to reinstall Direct X.

I tried everything! Install updates for PC and Graphics, re-install the game and 1.1 patch, install latest Direct X version.
So now he is getting a BFG GeForce 7300 Graphics card.
Will that be good to game with?

Well, the 7300 will meet the requirements of the game better than the ATI 200XT.

Does he have an older system that uses AGP?
