Reinstalling NS

So, way back when NS first came out I bought it and loved it (and the unlocks ). Unfortunately, I went through a long period where I did not play BF2142 at all. In that time I built a new PC and thought I lost my exe file for NS preventing me from reinstalling now.

However, I did manage to get a hold of the .exe file again, reinstalled, and repatched, but it doesn't work. I did legally buy the game from EA to begin with, so I assumed there would be no problems, but it doesn't seem to recognize it. :hmm:

Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome. :)

what do you mean it don't work? what happens? i did the same thing and i got it working with no probs on few occasions when i reinstalled windows.

If you get the unmodified content error, you need to re-install patching with 1.40 before 1.50 before AND after NS.
If it says you don't have NS, you may have to log in to EA with your email and 2142 password and add your 2142 account name as a persona.
If you have changed your 2142 account email since you bought NS, you may be screwed.

Yeah. I figured that out last night. Apparently 1.5 full has some issues with NS.... >_>

Patch to 1.40
Patch 1.50
install NS
Patch 1.50 again?

If so, not a problem, just want to make sure, I'm not even sure if I have my NS .exe and am not about to pay 15.95 to get it again from EA store. Yeah I'll miss some maps but it's totally bulljive how EA handled the switch from EA LINK. :dead:

Almost.

So install 2142
Patch to 1.40
install NS
Patch 1.40 again
Patch 1.50

The ns .exe should be in the c:\programDATA folder somewhere, you might need to show hidden files and folders depending when you last downloaded it.

After a very long period I decided to play some NS today.

Got the unmodded content error

I followed the re-install steps mentions above and it works again, thank you Natt. :thumbsup:

Got my NS Vehicle Excellence Badge now + new unlock :)

I am trying to install as well but I forgot to back up my setup and when I log into the EA down loader application I cant seem to find my game.

Where are the games you have bought located under the EA DM?

Epic thread bump, lol.

If I recall correctly about the last time I installed BF2412/NS (about a year ago, lol), I couldn't find the original install file for NS since it had been so long since I had previously installed it. For some odd reason, EA had updated their download program again since I bought NS and they had no record of me ever buying NS. It was still tied to my BF2142 account though. I had to find *ahem* alternate means of obtaining the NS install file and everything was right in the world.

Do a search for a folder called bf2142_bp1, the exe is in there.

I reformatted my PC ages ago, I do not think I will have that folder.

Only reason I am trying to get NS working is for the BFBC2 veteran status, I have my BF2142 registered but its not picking up NS.

Ohh, if thats the case, dont worry about it as you can''t register it anyway and it does not count.
