  • Help setting up unranked BF2 Server

I'm planning on setting up my own BF2 server at my house using a dedicated PC (Quad Core Extreme w/ 4Gig of RAM) for my Clan to use for practice. I want to run BF2CC on it so I can better control the nuances of the gameplay. I also want to allow for global unlocks (if possible) so that everyone can have the guns they are used to. Can someone post the steps or point me to a good resource to get me started on this venture? I've been on the BF2CC online help but it is not very helpful (go figure). Thanks in advance!

Ok, I did some messing around last night and got it figured out. Here's the steps I took in order to get it setup:
    1. Install BF2 Server 1.41 (Download from EA)
    2. Install the BF2CC Daemon from BF2CC.com (on the BF2 Server)
    3. Install the ModManager Admin Scripts from BF2CC.com (on the BF2 Server)
    4. Install the BF2CC GUI Client from BF2CC.com (on Client)
    5. Connect to BF2CC Daemon using the GUI Client
    6. Check the box to allow global unlocks

Note: there are some ports that need to be opened up if behind a firewall or port forwarded if behind a router. The ports are spelled out in the BF2 Server readme.

I though unranked servers blocked unlocks?

No, and if it is TWL practice unlocks are never used there anyway.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was going to work and was pretty happy when it did. The only thing I can't get to work right now is showing global rank. Everyone appears as a private on my server for some reason.
