Uninstall and reinstall the game.

Install 1242, patch to 1.5, install NS, repatch to 1.5

atlast

install bf2142
patch to 1.40
install NS
patch 1.40 again
patch to 1.50 using the 1.40 > 1.50 upgrade

1.40 to 1.50 patch is not good. there are bugged versions out in which you ctd by clicking on awards etc.

Actually it's a problem with the 1.50 full patch, and it doesn't affect everybody. You have to install the 1.40 first, before and after NS, or the 1.50 wont update properly.
The 1.50 also causes the BFHQ medals crash bug if you install it on it's own, before or without NS.

It only worked for me when I installed 1.4 and then the 1.5 incremental.

shifty, i had the same problem for the first few weeks that the 1.5 patch came out. ea's solution never worked. i tried re-downloading the 1.5 patch a few different times, thinking maybe it was just corrupted. as it turns out, many, MANY people have probs w/ the FULL 1.5 patch. there have been countless threads on this & other forums of those who have encountered the same problem. i can't believe that a problem on this large of a scale slipped pass ea/dice. btw, it cracks me up that you have a segment of one of my quotes as your sig...

just hearing those two stupid letters makes me mad, aside from all of battlefield crap thats happened throughout history, i just found out i have to buy a new Crysis Warhead game because you can only install it 3 times! thats the dumbest horse **** ive heard in a long while.
well technically you have unlimited installs but limited to the number of computers its installed on. but i had it on just one and they are idiots.
i heard someone once say EA is run by monkeys and now i dont seem to find that quite as far out their anymore.:|:

imo, DICE is DICE, they have done nothing wrong.
its just too bad that a great game will get bashed so much over a marketer and distributor like EA who just ends up ruining the reputation for an otherwise fantastic franchise like Battlefield.
although i havent found much wrong with Crysis, well besides the DRM piracy reduction thing they have with Warhead, Cevat Yerli was smart enough not let EA anywhere near their front door. except to courier.
