Re: 1v1 tips?
Double Tap! Easy win out.
Don't use any SMG's, you want to take your enemy down quickly. You don't need Bandolier, just pick up his weapon.
Use powerful weapons like the AK or M16, preferably the AK.
With Double Tap you can't go wrong. Hell, you want to win the match in a tournament, wouldn't hurt to use Last Stand in one of your kits to surprise him.

Your good to go.
Remember, Melee/shoot then reload because he still has to spawn.

Re: 1v1 tips?
That's a lot of different strategies. heh
Yeah, I'm not really playing in a tournament yet, but I think I might after having played some 1v1 matches.
They're a bit less boring than normal cod4 matchs.

Re: 1v1 tips?
That's true too. But when you change surface, grass -> rock -> tarmac etc, the first step makes a sound that relates to the new surface. Furthermore, even the smallest change in height of surfaces makes a sound. Hence I use Dead Silence during such matches.
Otherwise, during 1v1, you don't need a jammer, nor should the need for a jammer ever come up.
BTW, use stopping power for non-HC. Otherwise go for double tap.

Re: 1v1 tips?
Just remember that you don't make any noise when you move around in crouch.

Stealth kits.
AK with RD
C4/Claymore
Stopping Power
Dead Silence
You don't need UAV jammer, if he kills you 3 times in a row, might aswell give up.

Re: 1v1 tips?
idk dead silence is kind of a mixed bag, i mean yeah its really useful in some situations but then you also only need to move around so much on a map to kill people. it does really depend on the map i guess, one of those smaller maps like shipment or vacant it might be useful but then you could also just use deep impact or steady aim instead and crouch walk around or just not move as much and be more cautious if you know that the enemy can hear you. it IS definitely one of the better #3 perks though.

Re: 1v1 tips?
Well i'm assuming it will have rules similar to this.
which doesn't allow much flexabilty for perks like dead silence.

Re: 1v1 tips?
UAV Jammer or Slight of Hand, but I stick with Dead Silent and the Silencer, more then once did I miss my target, but still get to walk up to him and shank him. If your doing 1v1 and someone does get the UAV up and you don't have Jammer on, it sucks, big time. Scorpion is great for coming around corners and is accurate enough to pick your target off at range. Claymores or Bomb Squad is a given in just about every darn game of 1v1 I've ever played. That also justifies the Deagle since unless your using the AK74u your not gonna be able to shoot through walls with a sub. Subs also seem to be the weapon of choice unless their are strict tac rules in which case the silenced G3/M4 are king, but even then you'll still notice lots of Scorpions and other subs.
Personally I really like the 1v1 sniper thing on big maps, but that's just me.
