Battlefield 2142 not starting...

when I click the shortcut to start the game it says please insert the disc when its already inserted. I have uninstalled it twice and reinstalled it three times so any help.

Try running in compatability mode by right clicking on the 2142 shortcut, select properties, compatability and tick the box.

its also when i put the disc in it just shows me the loading screen for battlefield (the walker in Suez Canal) and then the prompt shows up saying please insert disc

I bet there are scratches on your DVD. Check it

ugh, I got it working by updating my drivers, atleast i think thats what made it work. the DVD wasnt the problem.

god dam same problem again, the same way im guessing, as last time i was also trying to update PB.
Nevermind i got it working again yet the dam PB error is annoying. Anybody know how to fix it. I played a full round today yet when i tried to play on another server i got the error again Forget it again I just uninstalled Battlefield 2142 then rebooted then installed Battlefield then rebooted then installed 1.50 then played.

So do you get the ctd when looking at a few medals in BFHQ?

what does that mean? If it means getting an error when I try to view my awards, then yes it has happened before but when i viewed my awards yesterday i dint get an error.
