never used a mod pack b4 do i just dl and install as if it was a bought game ?
ie allied intent v2.0 will this work with bf2 or am i missing the point

Yes, AIX will work with BF2. If it has an executable, it should find the BF2 directory and put stuff where it needs to be. You may, however, want to check the mod's documentation to find out if your BF2 needs to be current with a certain patch.
