I'm sure there will be a CoD6 but labeled something else. I just hope for bigger, more expansive maps vs the small and limited that is currently whats in the lineup.

Just my own personal thoughts...if they beefed up the COD4 engine to allow more objects to interact on each map (allowing for more customizable skins, overlapping attachments, more perks, etc, and for more robust modding), and continued to carefully incorporate more of BF2's features (specifically more teamwork-oriented features (eg. commo-rose, more squad stuff) and some vehicles (but not letting them get over-powered like in BF2), then they'd have a real killer game on their hands...maybe even something to compete directly against the eventual BF3.

I disagree with that Whiskey. Call of Duty is Call of Duty - CoD1, CoD2, CoD4, the 3 main games were all infantry based. That's what makes it a CoD game, the amazing, tactical ground combat.
Playing WaW, the tanks just felt completely out of place. The maps don't seem very well designed (they are designed more for TDM/CTF play than with any specific detail to them). The amount of depth in the level design seems to be very shallow, unlike the previous games (excluding the also botched CoD3) and makes the game very unrewarding after hours of play.

Honestly, I enjoy the bolts, but the sounds, the textures, the level design, and many more things have kept me from truly enjoying the game. I hope CoD6 is another true Call of Duty - smaller maps and quality infantry play.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Battlefield type gameplay, but that's Battlefield - this is Call of Duty. If CoD6 and BF3 are made very well, I'll gladly purchase both as I enjoy both types of gameplay - but don't make CoD6 another noob-friendly game.

Agree'd, I love battlefield... but it's battlefield, not to say I wouldn't mind having some aspects of the infantry combat of CoD in BF.

That's quite true, however I wouldn't doubt that Activision probably would like to cut into Battlefield's action (ie. money/sales) and might start taking their own series more into that realm.

It almost seems like some of the things in COD:WW are a "test", like dipping your toe into water, to see how these features are received, and if they could expand on them for an upcoming game.

I guess my comment was more aimed at me liking the COD4 engine much better than the BF2 engine, so if Activision made a COD version of BF2 (maybe not even calling it COD anymore, but a new franchise?), then it could really rock and go head-to-head with BF3.

Personally, I'm not sure that I like one game being almost all infantry, and the other being almost all vehicles. I'd like to see each of them move more toward the "middle" through the use of better options/configurations, to make them both better overall games and attract bigger audiences. But that's just me...I know others like to have them separate, but as a business model, I'm not sure how long that will work out...both games may eventually be forced to change in order to compete.
