CODWAW run trouble

I'm trying to run CODWAW on an AM2-MX mobo with a AMD 4600+ CPU 2 GB RAM on XP and keep getting an error that it seems many are getting:Error: Could not load material "water_droplet".
Error: Could not load material "water_dynamic_spray".

Waiting for $init to finish. There may be assets missing from code_post_gfx.


Error during initialization:
Unhandled exception caught

From what I've read online its a sound setting for speakers. I can't find a speaker setting of the type being stated. So at this point I can't run it. Can anyone please advise.

No I'm using Soundmax but also have a CMedia card installed. Here's the solution I've found:
Start>Control Panel>Sound

Right Click on the default playback device (e.g. Speakers) and click properties. From there select the Advanced tab.
To eliminate this error the default playback format must be set at 24 bit 48000Hz (Studio Quality). Simply select this from the dropdown list and apply the settings.

Try launching the game now-Everything should run fine.

Except I have no such settings that I can find anywhere.

No help so far. Funny all the other games I have run fine with what I have set. I have COD 4 and it runs fine on my system. Why the difference I wonder? :cry:

No such animal under XP tho. All there is is C:User\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision and just one file under that. I can't find any player\profile folder anywhere there. Must have to make my own then i assume right?

No, the game should have already created one for you if you've already tried to access single or multiplayer.

Here is the path again for XP...read it carefully and be sure your "hidden" files/folders are set to show:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\players\profiles\<profile-name>

Ok no it didn't create those folders as the game wouldn't run at all.So do I create those then? I tried it once but it caused the computer to crash to the blue screen when I tried run the game.

I did a quick scan of your posts above, but I don't understand why you're trying to access the Profiles folder, since your issue seems to be with audio/sound. Did you read something that said there was a setting in your Profile/config to fix that?

If you can run the game OK, don't worry about it. But if not, as it says in the COD:WW readme, there are issues/crashes involved with Realtek cards.

does anyone know a fix for the realtek problem? I can get into the MP screen, pick a server, connect, then after the load screen it goes to a black screen then CTD. Just updated my realtek drivers to no avail, and I cant find the option to change the default audio output as some fixes suggest

Well I was trying to modify the profiles folder because I read a post about how to run CODWAW in XP and if you read one of my previous posts that's where I got the idea. It didn't specify doing anything with sound in XP.
