Low frame rates vs. cod4

Anybody notice a big drop in performance?

I've got 2 8800 GTS' in SLI (512 MB each)
AMD 6400+ 3.2GHz
ASUS M2n-32 SLI Delux (590 SLI AMD Chipset)
8GB Ram
7200 RPM HDD
Vista 64x

I've got everything to low except for my resolution (needs to be 1150x720 i think to fill up my entire screen, 22" wide screen). I average 25-35 fps and 10-15 while turning.


So am I just crazy or is it lagging for other people too?

There's definitely something wrong. You should be able to max it with no problems.
Try turning Dual Video Cards on/off in the graphics options. Are your drivers up to date?

Also noticed a big dip in performance but as Iwantcable stated, you should be able to max it fine.

I upgraded my video card drivers today to the newest ones and noticed a few hiccups as well. Since the FPS monitor tool isnt working in WW, I dont know if there is a hit on it or not. It seemed OK when I played.

XFire has an FPS counter as well. Bring up the XFire window while you're in-game, and you should see it in the top Left corner (if you have it enabled in the XF options). Click on the "push-pin" icon to make it stay onscreen when you close the window.

I use xfire for fps. I saw a drop in performance. I saw my performance increase when i turned a console command called something like zFeather off. I also saw no difference in visual.

I haven't seen a huge framerate hit. I left mine at default FPS cap (85 I think) and turn on Sync Every Frame to get rid of tearing. I'd be pretty pissed if I couldn't sustain 60 FPS with this GPU, though.
The only performance issues I've had are random crashing, including BSODs; inability to join co-op games (I know they aren't in progress when I'm on the phone with the host); and having to restart the game in between every multiplayer server.

Is this for SP or MP? Also, are your correct pair of RAM sticks matched up in dual channel mode? And with your vid cards and great setup, use the higher resolution. I've had that happen with a lot of games. I actually get lower fps with a lower rez...wtf? But, what's causing it is the fact that you need to raise your rez which is then using your gfx card more, aka taking stress off of your other components allowing them to focus on their task.

I need to check my fps with xfire. No hiccups, but I just want to know my number.

OK, I ran fraps and it must just be my imagination. I averaged 100 to 125, which is the limit I set. Just about everything is on high and AA is turned off I believe. So is dof.

When I upgraded the video drivers my monitor flashes green for a few seconds then syncs. Its weird.
