    Black Screen and Freeze?

    Help, my CoD 4 keeps crashing and freezing to a black screen. Power is still flowing, but no keyboard response. One one boot, it stated that my motherboard battery was low, and I made sure it was seated correctly, but it still gives me a black screen...no message.

    Driver problem? My specs, 2 gigs of RAM, 8800GT and a Pentium 4.

      I had the same problem on my old rig. after look around with google i found out my power supply was not up to par.

          If the motherboard is saying the battery is low, but it is seated correctly, it probably needs to be replaced.

          It could be that the power supply is not keeping the system charged enough, draining the BIOS battery.

          Ive never heard of a motherboard battery doing that on a PC though.
