Ok so I just finnished Fallout 3 but...

... as I watched the epilogue and saw the guy walking around with his dog I realised I never saw that creature at all. Where do you get it?

After messing around a bit for like 40 hours I decided to go for the main story and pretty soon the game was finished. I missed out on a lot of stuff but will reload an old save later.

I did the same thing as you, got on with the main story before exploring everything. Luckily I did find the dog, he's in the Scrapyard. Just from memory I believe the Scrapyard is quite a ways South of Minefield, not 100% on that though.

I started a new game after my first and he was in the Scrapyard again, I was afraid it was random but I guess not.

EDIT: It's Closer than I thought to Minefield.

Scrapyard is just south of Minefield and slightly to the east

Andale is right at the bottom of the map, directly south of vault 101

Avira atm, come to think of it I did have a malware warning a few days ago from something in my Firefox cache which was dealt with

dam pikeys taking advantage of those in need of maps, I shall try to find another
