    Stats Reset

About 6 months ago I got on a server where my stats exploded, a modded server or whatever. I thought I would immediately get caught, but it took a while... Today, I got the following email from EA Outbound <ea_outbound@mailca.rnmk.com>:

Your Battlefield 2 account stats have been reset due to the following violation of the Rules of Conduct and Terms of Service.

    Violation: Exploitation of game/service mechanics

As noted in the Terms of Service you have agreed to, you (or others using your Account) will not violate the Electronic Arts Terms of Service to gain unfair advantage via the abuse of game systems or mechanics.

Therefore, you will not exploit any bug in the Service or in any EA product to gain unfair advantage in the game and you will not communicate the existence of any such bug (either directly or through a public posting) to any other user of the Service. ยท

Furthermore, you will not do anything that interferes with the ability of other Service users to enjoy playing an EA game and using the Service, in accordance with its rules, or that materially increases the expense or difficulty of Electronic Arts in maintaining the Service for the enjoyment of all its users.

The Rules of Conduct stipulate that you may not use features of the Battlefield 2 service for any reasons other than the purpose for which each feature is designed. Any exploitative behavior or activity is prohibited on the Battlefield 2 service and adherence to these rules is strictly enforced.

Should Electronic Arts decide that the sole intent of the actions on this account were to defraud other players for personal gain, this account will be immediately terminated. Battlefield 2 exists only because of its community; as such, any sort of anti-social behavior completely contravenes the spirit of the game, and we will remove those participating in such activities in order to protect the rule-abiding members of the service. Please understand that any additional violations could, and likely will, lead to the immediate termination of access and loss of internet play with this Battlefield 2 account.

If you feel that this action is unwarranted, or if you wish to dispute the claims of this email, we ask that you please visit the EA Account Administration site at http://support.ea.com so that they can review any possible discrepancies of this event. The Account Admin team is also available via that site should you have any general questions or concerns about the rule or its enforcement in the game, as we feel it is important to understand the rule completely before returning to the game world.

The Electronic Arts Terms of Service can be accessed here:

    Thank you for your cooperation
    EA Battlefield 2 Admin team

And it's all good because it'll be fun to start over...

Yup, nothing you can do. A few members got stats hacked on here. EA support will not help.

I have already tried, I only got my rank back by luck

This is why i only play on regular servers. And research new servers on trusted forums. I know it sounds anal but what can you do.

I do not understand why ea does not have a backup server with scores. i wouldn't mind being rest to a score a few day, weeks or even a month old. rather then being set to 0.

And if a hacker jumps into a server I'm on. I don't ***** or try to just camp him/her. Since all there hacks seem to come with pid hacks nowadays. i just play normal or just leave.

90% of stats problems are where you get PID spoofed. I should know, it just happened to me!

Sent to them for the lulz:

Actually, I am the victim of "stat hacking", though I believe you refer to it as "Player ID spoofing".

If you care to do a little research, you will find that I've always been an honest player and in fact have contributed more than my fair share to the Battlefield community by way of my helicopter tutorials and videos. If you need supporting evidence, I refer you to the former which can be found on "Google Videos" under the same player name (Sloi), or my helicopter tutorial which can be found here: http://www.secretsofbattlefield.com/heliguide.php

I don't really expect you to correct this mess, but I insist that I am not guilty of the aforementioned violations.

              Have you?
              Can you be more specific?

Don't think EA is going to fix the problem. It seems easier to reset everyone.
There have been many noobs who done this to make legit players get reset. And they did it. EA seems to ignore it.

I saw the exploitation while it was happening, through www.game-monitor.com. I was just checking if any of my friends were online on battletracker, and I saw many of them showing up as online on a server with a strange name. After I opened the server details I saw all the people with thousands of points.

I checked the accounts of people who showed up as online there, and stats were messed up. It didn't take much time until my account was affected too.

Me and my friends are admins of one of the largest BF2 Ranked server community in Brazil, and as we have zero tolerance with cheaters they had their revenge on us by doing this. We know who did it because they came to us and admitted and bragged about it.

Anyway, doesn't make difference now. What they have done is useless, but I just would be glad to see the "haxor" work undone.

So if you find your stats have been messed with contact EA as soon as possible for a better chance of getting your stats back again.

If you think you might get PID spoofed, take some screen shots of your stats.

                      Because i can't.

As a tip, if you've been hacked and you want to find your stats to send to EA games, check Yahoo's cache. Go to www.yahoo.com and do the following search:

Replace "X" with your PID. It should show you the stats before you were hacked.

Use raycaster. It shows you the accounts that are pid spoofing. Also lots of saved reports there.
