** NOTICE - Xbox 360 & PC Betas Expiring **

Hi everyone,

Just a heads-up, the Xbox 360 and PC Multiplayer BETA's are coming to a close. Both BETA's are officially closing Monday morning, 11/10/08. You will not be able to log in on either the Xbox 360 or the PC starting Monday morning. This is in preparation for the retail release that will follow later that evening at midnight!

It's been a great few weeks, and we've collected an invaluable amount of data as a result of both BETA's. As you may have noticed, there was a Title Update released for the Xbox 360 BETA, demonstrating just a small subset of the fixes we've implemented for the retail game. As for the PC, we have a patch we're preparing already to address some of the more important issues discovered with your BETA.

For that, I extend our sincerest thanks to the community for all the great feedback, and truly hope you enjoyed the BETA. Expect some more exciting news over the weekend, and keep an eye out as we prepare to unveil a very exciting new site feature to go live with the game!

So be sure to head out to the closest Gamestop retail location providing a midnight opening for Call of Duty: World at War Monday night and get your full game, or find it in shelves in North America Tuesday, and across Europe Nov. 14!

I must admit i have found this, im not sure if its the fact the maps are getting stale or the respect that all the points we have earned are (fairly) getting wiped and so playing doesnt have the same goal as it had when the beta was first released. Im really looking forward to the first patch though.

Is there an "unfair" way to get unlocks? cause seriously, my profile has been reset several times already, and I'm not going to slave over it to get that double barrel shotgun.

Im not sure about an unfair way but if its any help, the shotgun novelty wears off in seconds once you realize you can hit your toes due to the range.

Eh... played the PC beta for the first time today, and I realized... its not very good.

I am looking forward to playing SP though, looks interesting.

You realize that the full game won't take much more to unlock stuff, right? Of course, there will be more challenges and such, and more maps. I know some people with CoD4 got bored after completing stuff, but that's when the actual gaming starts in some people's opinions. :)

Im supprised ppl played this much. I cut myself off so i didnt get burnt out. No matter, the game is comming out in a matter of days, and its already been leaked on the internet.

I'm really enjoying gameplay, but I'll admit that seeing the same 3 maps over and over again is getting kind of stale. And yes, after reaching lvl 40, some of the novelty and urgency wore off (I just wanted to get there before the Beta ended).

But overall, I'm enjoying this as much, or even more than I did with COD4, especially with all of the new server options available on ranked servers, to limit perks/killstreaks/etc. And I'm liking having CTF and WAR (a couple servers are running it) in the stock game.

With the added 10 maps and co-op (+Zombies! :yay: ) in the full version, I think I'm going to be playing this puppy a lot this winter.

Eh... played the PC beta for the first time today, and I realized... its not very good.

Everyone's different of course, but both here and on the kiddie forums, there are plenty of people who didn't particularly care for COD:WW at first, but after a couple days started getting into the groove and enjoying it (especially after unlocking some key items). I think that for a lot of people, there's an adjustment period, and/or giving up habits from COD4.

Yes i agree with Whiskey here Kyle, i wasnt a fan at first but i gave it a few more tries and it can become very addicting once you get an overall feel for the maps and weapons. You have to play the right modes aswell, none of this TDM crap.

I was the same way with Combat Arms. Hated at first, then played it a bit more and started liking it, now I hate it again.

I liked combat arms, but not enough to really stick with it. I might pick it up again sometime.

I hate to admit this, but I HATED BF1942 when I first played it. I thought it was TERRIBLE. My brother gave it to me for Christmas about 6 years ago and so, for him, I kept playing it. Before I knew it, I was crashing jeeps and planes into tanks and having a great time
