Yay! I'm a hacker! MD5Check fails!

That's right guys, according to PB I'm now a chem/texture/file hacker! :yay:

Fresh install of BF2; patched up to 1.41, changed the init.con so I can skip the intro. Installed AIX and after 5mins of play:

*Big doom filled deep voice*
"Youuu have been kicked by PUNKBUSTER! For an MD5Check failure on mods/bf2/init.con!" ("bf2"? wtf? I'm playing AIX)

Okey maybe it didn't say that exactly but due to more EA/DICE failure my screen shot of it is black, just black. Nothing else, black as a 40ft ace of spades.

Here is an exact copy of the only file I have edited. init.con.

I don't know, I don't think so. Wasn't on long enough to see a server message for it lol.

Edit: Nope, doesn't work, I still get kicked from the [DoD] AIX server... It's the only populated server there is :/

Instead of messing with the code.. Or worrying about renaming the movie files, delete them.. Legal and EA are the only 2 that you can't mess with.. Other than that.. I don't even have those movies in my folder anymore.

As some said, just rename the file in the movie folder like:

intro.bik -> intro.bikk

That way you have a legal Init.con and still don't load the movies.

Or instead of modifying init.con or renaming folders/files - simply add

+ restart

to your shortcut, that skips intro movies

Which is a what? lol I can't play on that server because of this and BF2 says I have modified files and must revert to the latest official client etc.

All I did was Install: BF2 > 1.41 > AIX > PR > FH2

Never touched any files, for once. Sounds like reinstall is coming up but god I can't be arsed, that 1.41 patch takes like 3 months to install.

I really want to see what I can do to fix it first :/

A clean install would fix it. I attached a copy of mine as I never changed it. Just replace yours in the Battlefield 2/mods/bf2 folder

Why do you go through so much trouble to skip the movies?

Just go to <EA GAME/BATTLEFIELD2/MODS/BF2/MOVIES> and delete the shlt. Works perfect for me and only takes a second.

Jesus christ do you guys not read the replies? 6 people have replied about movies and I'm not interested any more, the first 2 are ok but 6??? Can't you read guys? Maybe I want the option to skip.

Rename the movies it's a lot easier than worrying with the PB crap it causes. :yay:
