Which singleplayer games do you think have the most "replayability"

It seems that most games that come out seem to have a shorter than advertised playtime, and you generally don't want to go through it twice.

So I was just wondering what are your guys' thoughts on singleplayer games that make you want to keep coming back.

For me, I see San Andreas as a great game to mess around with, besides the sandbox feel, some of the missions are fun to go through again, not to mention all the mods that you can toy with.

Neverwinter Nights 2 and its expansion, also is great because of user content you can play though by yourself, and how the game play is so different with each different class, and all of the decisions you can make.

I have heard Baldur's Gate has a large following for modding the campaign, I don't own it so I can't speak from personal experience.

So just throw in your .02, Thanks

Well, one game that I have replayed at least thrice is Shining Force Legacy of Great Intention when it was ported to the PC. It only has a single player, but it captivated me enough to repurchase the game for the GBA rerelease. It had a ton of stuff I missed the first time and played similar to a turn based strategy game like fire Emblem. I think a game's single player should be deep and intricate, where you can't find everything once, but you want to go back and play through it again because its gameplay and story mix well.

I'm pretty sure I have played Shining Force over five times, but I still don't know where everything is. The only problem, it didn't have a difficulty switch. I could beat the game like clockwork after a while, so I eventually stopped playing, but I still own two copies of the game.

Also, any game that allows you to go back and play through with all your upgraded equipment is smart in my book. Too bad Shining force didn't do that.

If we count mods, definately HL2. I personally found the vanilla game pretty linear and not very replayable, but some mods are extremely good (like Minerva Metastatis, download it if you haven't already)

Other than that, I'd say Crysis and Warhead, millions of ways to play through it and there's always something new to find next time you play that level. There is also a huge amount of singleplayer mods and maps that are a lot of fun. Heck even the level editor is great fun, trying to explode as many barrels as you can before your computer goes boom

If we don't count FPS games, ( ) I'd say SimCity 4. Funky music and a lot of fun for many many hours, especially since there is tons of custom content to download.

Games with really good stories Ive played over and over, such as Thief and KOTR.

Games that you can do some different things in different ways like CoD4, the Overlord, Shogun:Total War, and Starcraft also get replayed a lot.

I cant tell you how many times Ive played Doom and RTCW just to kill things in Single Player.

I find that games that have no other ways of ending or the story isn't that great, I generally dont pick up again.

I'd say Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl. Plus there's a lot of mods for both of those games.

I think even the Crysis demo had a lot of replayabilty compared to say, the COD4 demo.

Medieval2: Total War has lots of replay value, in fact all total war games have lots of replay value due to each country having unique things and play styles. there are also lots of mods that look good

AIX with it's focus on Single Player and Coop has been very fun for me and I've spent hundreds of hours playing it. I love BF2, but it's old and limited. AIX modernizes so much of that game, has a ton of maps and is playable over-and-over again.

                          That's a win in my book. AIX 2.0 releases Nov 15th. www.aixtended.com

I would say Fallout 3. There are many different ways to do things in the game that it can change how you finish it. There are many different quests to do, like WoW, but its so versitile.
