I'm new to COH, anyone want to scrim?

Hey guys, I'm new to this game (online) and I seem to get my butt smacked everytime I play (1-7 so far).

Yes, I've practiced in skirmishes where I seem to do pretty good. So like other posts for different games, is anyone up for a scrim sometime?

    My xfire is: Ausdenaschen
    game name is: Ausden

    Yo Ausden :)

I also thought I was doing pretty good before playing online because I was pwning the cpu and a friend in LAN, but the truth is that I had a lot to learn... One of best way to learn apart from practicing is watching a lot of good replays (preferably from high ranked players), like here (those with an "Expert" in the corner). And watch them with Fog of War on.

If you want we can play some games together so I can see how you play and correct some of your mistakes. Don't expect too much though cause I've played a lot of WoW these last month and forgot a little

    I'll add you in-game.

      nice, thanks Infernalis.

It's just amazing how fast the other guy can build up his army. My goal at the beginning is to cap as close to the middle of the map as possible and build up defensive positions, then work on my offensive units. But most of the time, the other guy is already shelling out arty.

When are you usually on? I'm on the east coast so I start playing around 6 or 7 pm.

Argh, with your name I thought you were from Germany, despite your location being writed right under my nose lol. It really depends, sometimes I play really late but I don't know, I'm from France so 7pm I guess it's 2am here? I guess we won't cross each other a lot but I see in-game when you're up anyway.

You can also save some replays when you're losing (or even winning) so I can check quickly what you are doing wrong or not.

Add me up sometime also Infernalis (My ingame is Tim27), im getting bored of the automatch. Trust me, this game has a big learning curve. I have played from day one and it took me a long time to learn the best build orders and how to use cover well. You just need to learn what unit beats what unit firstly.

Oh, not a problem Infernalis. Weekends are when I"m gaming alittle too much.

            I'll probably catch you then.

Ok Tasty, but if you're playing from day one I guess I will get my *** kicked

You also have to learn that a few things are unbalanced, like the OF factions versus the vanilla one for example

Yeah, I figured that. Was completing the campaign and see 2 additional Missions, but you need the expansion so I bought Opposing fronts off Amazon.com for $16.00 (tax included).

Lvl 8 Werh and US. I don't have the expansion and don't do automatch 1vs1 anymore as I was quite dissapointed with unbalances, exploits, drophacks... It frustrates me. I'm waiting for the 2.5 patch, hopefully the release is near.

I'm doing some auto 2vs2 for now, it's fun most of the time even if sometimes you're teamed with a complete jerk or noob and the unbalance is even worse (especially with Brits).

Dunno, I think the general balance is pretty ok at the moment just have to learn to adapt. Yeah, i have been going on the 2v2 auto a lot also got to lv7 (both axis) but I just cant stand the games where you get matched with a player under lv4.

Re: I'm new to COH, anyone want to scrim?

Balance is okay if the player is kind of fairplay and you know what is op/up. The problem is in a RTS a single overpowered unit or unbalance can ruin a game, and there is more than a single one in coh.

For example if the player like to spam armored car as PE and you're US you will suffer a lot and most likely lose if he abusing it, he just have to kill your riflemen and rush your base to kill the wounded, and it's surely not stickies or para+rr that will save you if the PE player know what he's doing. The sole fact that you have to stall until the holy M8 and using running strafe 90% of the time is bs.

Or Werh vs Brit, you have to spam bike or pios before they build that damn mortar or you're most likely dead, especially on certain maps (mortar on Ste-Mère = dead werh).

I don't know if you have read the changelog of the 2.5 patch but it's really, really big. Anyways from what a friend playing a lot of Dawn of War told me, Relic have the bad habit to make op factions with their add-on and I think it's true, in the new patch the most nerfed factions are PE and Brits.

For 2vs2 I lose yersterday to two noobs (one smurf at least), my partner was a complete noob and build tank traps at my base entrance to "protect my base". Kind of things that depress me lol.

I was wondering who you were, I saw the pending friend request. I'll go ahead and add you, who knows maybe we can get a group of 4 and have our own scrim.

Wow, I have really bad memory. How do you add a buddy via the game?

I added you tasty (pending approval btw) but I can't remember how I did it.
