Hi folks,
Not gonna believe this one - give ya aheads up where I'm coming from first and specs etc.
I have a 3.8 AMD x2 proccy / 1gig ram / Ati 3850 / Realtek ac97 sound and a Realtek Network card all on xp sp3.
Kept getting the handler exception error, even after, messing with the sound, updating dx9 to latest version, updating sound drivers, sticking a SB Audigy ZS platinum sound card in - all to no avail.....
so.... Got Far Cry 2 yesterday to try out - getting the same problem with that on startup - so went hunting for a fix!
And you will never guess what... the fix for it kinda (will explain further on) fixed WaW.
The fix you say, gimmee it, gimmee it now!!!
No not yet... gonna disclaim the following - trying this is at yer own risk and wont be to blame if it balls your system up
Basically your gonna download and install a hacked version of, yer never gonna believe it DX 10!!!!!!
DOES IT WORK
Yes and No.
Yes I can now play the game, however getting map crashes when new map is launching, which seems others on here are having anyway - so short of it - YOU CAN PLAY
Though take note here
For my system, I got graphical artifacts and funny stuff when first trying, after adjusting some graphic settings namelly switching texture to manual and setting all at normal and most importantlly which really seemed to fix it -setting specular map and dynamic foliage to off
Also recommend dropping your firewall, as this seemed to cause me a few probs at first.
