I was just wondering how TGN's battlefield network was composed of Battlefield fans, so please reply with your favorite game within the series and why.

for me it is 2142. Everything i hated about BF2 was fixed in 2142. 2142 is so balanced in gameplay. No overpowered jets, no insta prone dolphin diving, points for giving orders, no tedious level grinding ..... need i go on?Comment

I've voted 2142, it's way better balanced than BF2. Although I have to say that Battlefield Bad Company looks awsome and the frostbite engine is great but I prefer PC over console ...difficult choice.Comment

2142 all the way. bf2 was a REALLY nice jump from bf1942,vietnam, or even any of the mods like modern combat. squad play w/ voip was introduced, along w/ unlocks. 2142 adjusted what wasn't right in bf2. squad play was just taken to a whole new level, making you now get points for following orders rather than doing your own thing. also, everything in 2142 must be unlocked, making it a little more challenging right out of the gate. w/ bf2, you only had to unlock guns. all your stamina, nades, defibs, etc came stock. let's not forget the kit improvement; rather than a ridiculous 7 kits, you have 4 to choose from & can CUSTOMIZE the way you like/need it. spawn beacons made more people actually want to play the squad leader role. the bugs still exist, but the game play itself & design are far superior than anything previously released.Comment

I didn't post this or at least I didn't mean to. Maybe, I thought total BF2142 fans wouldn't all go over to total Battlefield 2 , so I put it in both sections I'Que, but that is the only explanation for this in my mind. http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/ma...d.php?t=179497 it has been updated to include Vietnam. It was really close between 2142 and BF2 for me, but I had to go with BF2.
In 2142 I like the balance, the increased support for squad play, the unlock and ranking system, and some really cool weapons and toys.
In BF2 I like the vehicle diversity (no Humvee or boats in 2142), the class diversity (I think the 2142 'trees' should be split into 8 distinct classes), but what really did it for me were the maps. I think BF2's map design and layout is much better than 2142. They are much more complex and detailed, and many of them have a unique "theme" to them. 2142 seems to be more recycled with less variations. Plus, I used to think Karkand was too much of a bottle neck map. After playing Camp G I realized it wasn't so much after all. :pComment
